# Bank holidays and closures

> How weekends and Federal Reserve holidays affect your payments, and how to plan around them.

ACH payments and check deposits move on business days. Weekends and Federal Reserve holidays don't count. Here's how to plan around a closure.

**1. Need funds to land right away? Ask for an instant payment**

Ask the sender to pay by instant payment (RTP or FedNow). These settle within seconds, 24/7, weekends and holidays included.

**2. Deposit checks one business day early**

Checks deposited on a weekend or holiday go out for clearing the next business day. For anything time-sensitive, deposit one business day before the closure.

**3. Start outgoing ACH payments one business day early**

Start payments one business day before a closure so they arrive on time. Payments started on a weekend or holiday go out the next business day.

**4. Watch for our reminder**

We'll send a reminder before each Federal Reserve holiday.
