# Cards for software and AI agents

> Manage virtual cards issued by connected software and give AI agents virtual cards with capped spending.

## Cards issued by connected software

Software you've connected to Lemma can be authorized to issue virtual cards on your behalf. Those cards appear alongside your own, with the cardholder name "Managed by Platform Name".

The software that issued the card controls its name, so **Rename card** is disabled on its page. You can still review its transactions, update its spending limits, freeze it, or cancel it like any other card. Changing its limits keeps any merchant category restrictions the software set.

## Virtual cards for AI agents

Issue a virtual card with spending limits to share payment credentials with an AI agent safely. If something looks off, cancel the card.

Lemma debit cards only spend the cash in their funding account. They never borrow funds like a credit card. If you run several AI agents, you can cap your total exposure by opening a dedicated bank account for their spending.

For example, say you have three AI agents. Open an "AI spending" account and fund it with \$10,000, the most you're willing to spend across all agents. Then issue each agent its own card with a \$5,000 limit. Any one agent can spend up to \$5,000, but your total exposure across all three is \$10,000 instead of \$15,000.
