# Xero

> Automatically import your Lemma transactions into Xero by connecting through Plaid, or upload a Xero-formatted bank statement yourself.

## Connect through Plaid

Connect Lemma to Xero through Plaid and your transactions import automatically. See [Plaid](https://getlemma.com/docs/integrations/plaid.md) for how to connect.

## Export a Xero bank statement

If you'd rather import transactions yourself, download them as a CSV formatted for Xero's bank statement import.

**1. Filter to one account**

On the [transactions page](https://app.getlemma.com/_/transactions), filter
to the Lemma account you want to import. Xero imports each file into a
single bank account, so a file covering several Lemma accounts would land
all of them in one Xero account.

**2. Export**

Click **Export** and choose **Xero**.

**3. Import into Xero**

In Xero, open the matching bank account and [import a CSV bank
statement](https://central.xero.com/s/article/Import-a-CSV-bank-statement-US).
The column headings match Xero's field names, so mapping them is quick, and
Xero remembers the mapping for later imports.

> [!NOTE]
>
> If you don't see the **Xero** option under **Export**, contact Lemma to turn
> it on for your entity.
