Switch to Lemma

Changing banks means moving all your recurring money in and outs. Lemma offers white-glove migration support.

Moving payers is only easy if you have the time

Changing the bank on file means logging into every payer portal, finding the right form, and waiting for each one to verify. For organizations with dozens of payers, that becomes a second job.

Lemma runs the entire onboarding process as a concierge service. This guide shows how the process works, from the first call to the last deposit.

What using Lemma looks like

50,000+ payer deposits matched to their remittance monthly.

Remittance reconciliation

500+ HIPAA-compliant lockboxes receiving paper mail.

How Lemma supports you

White-glove payer migration, run by our specialists

Switching is not a self-serve checklist. A dedicated Lemma payer migration specialist analyzes your banking data, builds your plan from it, and works through every payer with you, in your portals if you want us there.

Money in

Link your existing bank in about three minutes. We read your recent transaction history and pull every source of money in, so no payer is dropped.

  • Insurance payers, grouped by payer family, so every plan variant of the same payer is counted once.
  • Card processors, checks, wires, and other deposits, not just EFTs.

Money out

We pull the same history for money out, because a switch that only moves deposits breaks the bills still tied to the old account.

  • Vendors and recurring bills, with an average monthly amount for each.
  • Payroll, loans etc. flagged and timed for you so nothing is disrupted.

Your dedicated onboarding plan

Each payer is mapped to the portal needed to change your banking information.

  • Built from your accounts. What you actually receive and pay, not what you remember to list.
  • One tracker per entity. Money in and money out for each entity, so a group sees every PC separately.
  • Kickoff call. We walk through the plan, agree the order payers move in, and send your team a guide to learn Lemma while the migration runs.
  • Live status. Each payment is confirmed by our AI project manager the moment it lands in your Lemma account.
  • Old account tracked too. We track what is still landing in your old bank account as well, so everything from the switch is accounted for.

Backed by the Payer EFT Network

Lemma maintains a network of 2,300+ insurance payers and documents how each one changes the bank account it deposits into. Every payer on your plan is matched to its entry, so we know whether it changes by portal, form, documents, or phone before the kickoff call.

Frequently asked questions

How do you know how to change each payer?

We maintain the Payer EFT Network, a proprietary directory of 2,300+ payers that documents the portal, form, documents, or phone route to change each one's bank account, with payer IDs and provider services contacts. Your plan maps every payer to its entry documented from our specialists' lived experiences.

How long does a migration take?

Most EFT switches finish in about two weeks, and a full migration takes 4 to 10 weeks, in which Lemma takes on the monitoring and tracking of payer deposits. Payers set their own pace: Cigna takes roughly 3 to 5 days, a Medicare MAC 4 to 6 weeks, and state Medicaid 4 to 8 weeks. Your team gives us access to your portals and we take on the admin and project management.

What do I need to do?

Link your existing bank and join a kickoff call. Then either sign in to each payer portal and switch with us on a screen share, or add our specialists as users and we make the changes for you. If your practice is new or cash only, we have an onboarding fast track to get you set up and going quickly.

Which payers and portals do you work with?

The full list of portals we work with is documented in our Payer EFT Network resource. Beyond working with portals, our specialists can also draft emails and call on your behalf.

What happens to payers that still send paper checks?

We can help change your remit-to or pay-to address with your insurance payers and EHR system so that all checks come into your Lemma lockbox.

Will I miss any payments during the switch?

Each payer is switched individually. We confirm deposits landing in Lemma and keep your old account open for two clean payment cycles before you close it.

Why does a payer portal show a different bank name?

Some portals display the bank as Core Bank, CoreBank, or Centennial Bank. The routing and account numbers are correct and route to your Lemma account.

Can you migrate several entities at once?

Yes. Each entity gets its own tracker and plan, so a group can move every PC on one schedule.

Can my team learn Lemma while the migration runs?

Yes. After the kickoff call we send a Day 1 Guide covering funding, getting paid, cards, approvals, vendor bills, and QuickBooks, so your team is ready when the last payer switches.

Switch once, with someone beside you

We plan it, run it with you, and track it to the last deposit.
