Lemma is not a bank. Banking services are provided by Core Bank, Member FDIC, our banking partner. Every dollar you hold in a Lemma account sits at Core Bank.

How your deposits are insured

The standard FDIC insurance limit is $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, per ownership category. Lemma extends coverage well beyond that limit through the IntraFi network:
  • Up to $250,000 stays at Core Bank and is directly FDIC-insured.
  • Balances above $250,000 are insured through the IntraFi network, which spreads the excess across other Member FDIC banks so each portion sits below the per-bank insurance limit.
  • Every account is covered for up to $10M in FDIC insurance in total.
Your money never leaves the FDIC-insured banking system, and you continue to work with a single Lemma account regardless of how balances are distributed behind the scenes.

Confirming coverage

Two independent sources can confirm how your deposits are held.

Core Bank

We’re happy to put you in touch with Core Bank directly to confirm our practices, including how Lemma accounts are custodied and how IntraFi enrollment works. Email contact@getlemma.com and we’ll make the introduction.

IntraFi

IntraFi issues a confirmation letter directly to the depositor once an account is open and enrolled in the IntraFi network. IntraFi does not issue confirmations before that point.
