Send payments to bank accounts outside of Lemma. Go to Move money > Send externally and follow the three-step process:
1

Choose a recipient

Select a saved recipient from your external recipients list, or add a new one.
2

Enter payment details

Enter the amount and choose a transfer method. Every transfer method is enabled on your Lemma account, but Lemma checks the recipient’s routing number and disables any method their bank does not accept. ACH, RTP, and FedNow transfers are free to send. Wires and checks have small sending fees listed on the pricing page. The RTP and FedNow networks cap how much you can send in a single transfer, but you can send multiple transfers in a row to move a larger amount.
Wire transfers carry the recipient’s address on the Fedwire network, which allows at most 35 characters each for address line 1, address line 2, and city. If any of those lines is longer, Lemma rejects the wire when you send it and the error names each line that is over the limit. Recipients cannot be edited, so add a new recipient with a shorter address to send the wire. Other transfer methods are not affected by this limit.
3

Review and confirm

Review the transfer details and confirm. For wire transfers and check mailings, the fee is deducted from your account automatically.
You can attach a document to an external payment for your own records. Unlike a document mailed with a check, it is never sent to the recipient. To move funds between Lemma accounts, transfer within Lemma instead. It is instant and free.
